applying to Baruch with GED only?

I dropped out of high school when I was 16 and now I’m 19, and i’m going to finish my GED exams by this month.
so i asked Baruch if I can apply with only a GED and as an international student, do i need to take toefl or ielts?.. they said no i don’t need it if i take an American GED with a minimum score of 3000. i also asked them if i need to take SAT/ACT (reading and maths). and again they said no, if i take GED they don’t need any standardized test scores.
and i was like ‘wut’? is it that so easy to apply? i thought all american colleges need SATs. i read that Baruch is very selective (only 23% acceptance rate). are they joking or what?

oh and i want to study computer information systems there. do they based their selections on majors too? because i read that accounting is the most competitive of all.

anyone pls help me out?

Each college and university sets its own policy about admission exams. You were smart to contact Baruch and ask. Evidently, they consider your GED sufficient evidence that you are ready for college-level courses. That is terrific news!

For details about different selectivity for different majors at Baruch, you really need to ask the admissions office there. They can tell you about this.

Good luck with your exams, and good luck in the admission process!

hi thank you very much
i’m still shocked and unsure that they don’t need me to submit the standardized test scores. very strange. whatever it is, i’m going to take it. i bet most of the applicants will submit SATs too (duh obviously), and they will probably choose the ones with high scores, so i better take it too. GED ain’t enough.
