Applying to Community College with no GPA? [domestic student from HS outside the US, ApplyTexas]

Hi!

So I’m applying to CC for Fall 2025 on ApplyTexas, and in the application form it’s asking for my GPA. I finished my high school in Sweden and we also have a score system but not at all the same as in the U.S. We also have no credits and a lot of the subjects are very different, not to mention it’s only 3 years, so it’s been tricky to calculate an estimate of my score. Since I’ve moved to the States and have residency, I’m technically not an international student and can’t apply through that process if I’m correct. I will of course contact them, but I wanted to check if I can still just apply normally and put whatever GPA score since it’s a 100% acceptance rate?

Count all academic classes you’ve taken since Grade 9, even if it wasn’t part of high school (last year of Högstadiet).
If you took Algebra 1 and Geometry or foreign languages/English/Swedish before Grade 9, include them too. (That would be typical.)

Why are you applying to a CC rather than a 4-year university? They would likely know how to treat your application - internationally-educated domestic applicant are not uncommon.

Note that if you were in an academic gymnasium you would have taken Honors or IB level courses but not if you attended a vocational high school (in that case the courses would be considered standard, college prep).
1 year with 6 courses= 6 credits (up to 8 I think).
If you had a specialty, these would count as more credits and would be like IB HLs.
