Applying to UC as an impacted major

<p>I don’t know if this is true or not, so I’m just going to say. Correct me if I’m wrong.</p>

<p>What I have heard is: applying as undeclared, or non-impacted major will raise your chances of getting into the University.</p>

<p>Is that true? If so, then if I apply for Hass school of business at Cal, wouldn’t that be super competitive? So… can I take the alternative route and apply as something not competitive and then change it later? </p>

<p>You can’t switch into HAAS once you transfer into Berkeley, also when applying for schools you can’t apply undeclared. For Berkeley Letters and Science you can be accepted for any major into and change later on. But most impacted majors at schools (ie Haas, Econ at UCLA, Comm at UCLA) you needed to be directly admitted into the major or as a “pre” major.</p>
