Applying to USC as an international

Hi,

I’d like to apply to USC for Fall 2009, my main concern is whether or not I’m a transfer student. I already have a BA from a canadian university, but I’d like to apply for an undergraduate major out of my previous field of study, am I qualified as a freshman or a transfer student ?

If so, since I wasn’t motivated (only did that major because of pressure made by my dad’s business), I barely made the minimum to get my diploma, I didn’t attend most of my classes, I didn’t study, etc. Result : Graduated with poor grades. I don’t want to transfer any of those units since I’m going in another path and I’m really motivated to do what I want to this time, will those grades hurt my candidature ? My high school grades are excellent tho.

I’d also like to have more informations about this statement taken from the USC website : "You must complete two semesters of English composition before enrolling at USC. "

Is that the common english class that we get in high school / canadian college ? If not, do I need to take it even if my TOEFL score is good ?

Thank you very much =)
