Applying without Parents' Income and Assets - International Student

Hello Everyone,

Last two months, I started living alone. Believe it or not, my monthly income is around 700 $us (enough for me). Since my parents do not live with me anymore, I am trying to apply to an Ivy League and, at the same time, for financial aid. Nonetheless, the financial aid asks for my parents’ income and assets.

Is there any chance to apply without my parents’ income and assets?

Thanks

No. Unless you meet one of the requirements to be declared an independent student (over age of 24, married, military veteran, child of your own who you provide over 1/2 their support, etc.) you are still required to list your parent’s income and assets.

Alright.

I also found this.

If you are an international student, you don’t file the FAFSA. See what is required from your school(s).

As an international student, you cannot file the FAFSA. That is for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. You are neither.

Most of the Ivies require the Profile. And you would be required to include your parent income and assets on this form. No way around it.
