<p>I recently responded to two different request to read essays and the essays were sent to me. I read them carefully and thoughtfully, and submitted comments that I hoped were as helpful and sensitive to the students as possible. All in all, I probably spent 3 or 4 hours. </p>
<p>I return, I received nothing. No acknowledgement, no second draft and no thank you from either writer. </p>
<p>To those of you who are considering posting your essays asking for help, please treat your reviewer with respect for their efforts. A note acknowledging the comments and feedback on their value would be appropriate. Many here are eager to help you with your application essays, but their efforts should not be taken for granted.</p>
