Appropriate attire for a Silicon Valley intern?

<p>Thought this might be a good place to pose this question…</p>

<p>My kid will be traveling cross country for an internship and has no idea what to pack. Are we wrong to think that dressy shorts and polo shirts are acceptable? Or should he be wearing long pants and button down shirts?</p>

<p>Am hoping that the fine folks hear can give me some opinions on this silly question. Thanks.</p>

<p>A clean polo shirt and nice fitting pair of clean jeans [ not ripped or low riding] is all he needs out here. </p>
