Ok so finally, the application process is over. I have applied to 4 schools, and plan on doing a dual degree program in economics and finance.

Applied to:
University of Michigan, preadmit to Ross Buisness (double legacy grad school, resident)
University of Pennsylvania (double legacy undergrad)
Duke University
University of Southern California

I’m a white male, so that sucks.
taken 10 APs in high school, 3.66 UW 3.91 Weighted. so that sucks.
ACT: 35 cumulative (35 35 36 32 9)
SAT: 2260 (800 760 700)
AP calc 5, AP lang 5
I am a NMSF, assume i’ll be a finalist
I have played 5 sports in high school, lettered in 3 of them, and was the captain of varsity tennis.
My commonapp essay was about how my volunteer work painting murals in detroit changed my preconceived views of the city, and i have been told it was excellent.
other essays were about my jewish faith and about why i am interested in buisness.

I work 4 days a week at a restaurant, and i teach sunday school classes on sundays.

I also placed 2nd in the state engineering competition last year, idk if that will help when im not interested in engineering tho.

The GPA kind of holds you back from the top schools. I think duke may be your hardest since you’re a double legacy at UPenn. They are both reachable especially if you’re essay is great. I can see you getting into one or the other, and getting into Michigan for sure. Good luck!

You are in at UM and USC is a match. UPenn is normally a reach for everyone but your legacy status gives you a bit of an edge. I’d say Duke may be the biggest reach for you because of the GPA, but otherwise, your chances are solid.

UPenn and Duke are reaches for pretty much everyone, and your GPA hurts a little, but I think you still have a chance! Not sure about USC. UMich should be a match.
