Looking forward to our campus visit in a couple of weeks! What should we expect?

I remember how excited we were last year to bring our newly admitted DS to explore USC last year. It is a very busy day from early morning through the evening. Be prepared to be “wined and dined.” They will offer a lovely buffet lunch and fun, congratulatory program in Town and Gown room for families. You will sit at round tables by major. After only a few hours students and parents are separated for dinner- kids go off to eat a “dorm dinner” and tour dorms with current students. Parents are back at Town and Gown for “cocktail hour”- beer and wine, soft drinks and a full sit down dinner with more remarks. Morning and afternoon are filled with campus tours, presentations by Financial Aide, tours of schools, etc.

You are made to feel very special and priviledged to be the family of an admitted student. It is marketing and it works. DS has had a wonderful freshman year at SC!

Hi minnymom! Great to hear your S has had a wonderful year. Do you remember us here last year waiting for decisions. What a difference a year makes!

Hi Madbean! I must admit I have been “trolling” through these posts reliving our experience last year. Yes, S LOVES being at SC… so much that he applied for a summer position… I am so thrilled that he has transitioned so well, but I am a tad let down that he wants even less time at home and more time at SC!
