April 26 Admit Day

Hey yall, I’ll be flying up the thursday before admit day. Any of yall going to be up there? It’d be nice to maybe meet up and talk.

is there an entrance fee for this thing?

None, besides your personal transportation costs, of course.

I’m gonna go that day. BC seems like a good school, but i’ve heard that there’s mad rich white kids and jocks, being a not so rich hispanic, idk if i’ll fit in. also, its kinda far from downtown. im tryin’ 2 decide between BC Carroll School of Management and NYU Stern

andrew78191-- Not all the kids are as stereotype as you think they are. I visited BC after hearing all those BS and it was a quite different experience for me. It seems like all the minority students (Asian, Hispanic and Blacks) tend to form a nice group among themselves. So, don’t worry about that at all. Just go if you really want to go to BC.

Good luck :)

I’m going that day too and I’m asian, lol.

to andrew78191: we can be friends there according to SRB2006, haha. But yeah I got waitlisted at NYU Stern so I’m gonna see how that turns out-- but lately I’ve been leaning more towards BC Carroll anyway.

i’m goin that day!
@smartypantalon - i got waitlisted at stern too…i haven’t done anything so far that shows my interest of going there except putting myself on the waitlist online. lol. i really don’t liek the prospect of living at home/commuting and going to a school w/no campus at all. plus, i really wanna get out of jersey.

@smartypantalon-- Hey I might join u guys since I am Asian. Haha

hey andrew i’m a chicano from fort worth, Texas. I attend a mostly white private school back home and i know exactly how you feel because i do feel alienated at my present high school. however from what i’ve learned you just have to be extroverted and have a good attitude. dont let stuff bother you.

Oh, well count me in because I’m Asian as well.

hm… wow, just got my financial aid package, and i dunno if i want to go visit anymore. :-(

Eh, forget it. I’ll see you guys up there. I’m out of choices now, I’ll find a way to finance.

SRB: “It seems like all the minority students (Asian, Hispanic and Blacks) tend to form a nice group among themselves.”

Gah, that’s what I’m worried about. I don’t want to have to “join” that group because of my race!

im going and i want to meet people outside of my race. im black.

You aren’t forced to hang out with people of your own race. I’m asian and I have plenty of friends who are not asian, come to think of it, I don’t know any asian person I would call as my friend.

^^^^^^^

What are you implying?

The previous posters made it sound like students at BC only hang out with their ethnic groups when that fact is simply not true. That’s all I’m getting at.

iMac15-- Actually that’s what I saw when I visited BC for the 1st time. I stayed there for only like half an hour. But I visited BC on Tuesday and stayed there for 5 hours, I saw how wrong that stereotypical idea is. I saw a lot of Asians hanging out with black and whites. I was bit surprised not to see many Latinos though.

But it all depends on a person…after all college is what you make out of it.

Okay, thanks guys. i’m like losing sleep over this decision, but EVERYONE is telling me to go to BC over Syracuse and I think that’s where I’m going to end up.

definitely BC over Syracuse~~the deicision that i’m losing sleep over is Notre Dame vs. BC…I still have not resolved this issue yet…
