APs and BFA programs

I have a sophomore daughter at Laguardia HS of performing arts who took AP World history this year. she is an A student but really hard on herself and so this class nearly killed her. she has an option to take AP US history next year as a JR. but I don’t want to push her to suffer through it IF the best BFA programs won’t really look carefully at the whole AP/non AP choice. we are thinking of schools like Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern. finally, anyone know a specialist I can hire to guide us through?

@lfields I wouldn’t worry about APs making any difference to U-Mich or CMU when applying for a BFA program - they have academic “lower limits” and the rest is audition. APs mostly come in handy to meet Gen Ed reqs.
Northwestern is an academic admit (not a BFA) so yes, it may make a difference there. Check out the “Majors” forum for more expertise - there’s a forum for Dance, Acting and (very active) Musical Theatre. Lots of good info on each.
