where i go to school, there are no AP’s for us to take as a freshman. as a sophomore, the only one you can take is APUSH1 (yes…its split into two). as a junior, you can take ap bio, english 1 (language), ush2, chem (if you doubled up to take chem as a soph) and art history, and then senior year you can also take ap spanish (aka spanish 5) calc, and english 2 (literature)

I didn’t take any as a freshman. I’m only taking one next year as a sophomore (U.S. Gov)

Well at my school , there aren’t any AP courses that freshmen are allowed to take . I’m actually the youngest person in my school’s history to take an actual AP class (Human Geo doesn’t count) and ace it every marking period . I took AP Biology my sophomore year and I’m pretty sure I got a 5 on the AP exam . Next year , I’ll be a junior and I’m taking 5 AP’s .

My school only allows people to take however many exams they want in senior year. Not many have heard of AP exams though.

I’m a junior and I’m one of the only two people in my year to take any AP exams.

At my school, sophomores can only take AP World, and freshmen are not allowed to take APs. Sometimes, native speakers take their respective languages in sophomore year, but that’s about it. Ironically, I’d only heard of self-studying on CC.

Our school allows freshmen to take World History and Comp Sci; I took World History and Spanish Lang as a freshman.

Lots of my sophomore friends are taking Chem, EHAP, Bio, Statistics, Comp Sci, etc (usually 3 of the above combo).

I’m taking EHAP and self-studying Psych and Human Geo.

Last year (Freshman year) I took Human Geography, and this year I’m taking Bio, Psych, and Calc.

Human geo was actually pretty easy. I made a 5.

what is with people taking calc BC their freshman year???

at a couple schools i know:
one school has no APs for freshmen and 1-2 APs for sophomores
another school doesnt offer APs until junior year
of course there are special exceptions to these rules. i got lucky and was one of the special exceptions. i took calc BC, comp sci A, and physics C mech and E&M at school sophomore year while my classmates were in one or two APs. i also self-studied APES sophomore year, chem freshman year, and bio in 8th grade (all 5s).
i know of at least 5 other kids who took APs in 8th grade, many who took APs in 9th grade, and even more who took APs in 10th grade, but this is just in my area.
