<p>Any suggestions on purchasing furniture? So far, it looks like I am going to make a trip to IKEA. I was hoping to spend less than 200 on a twin bed. With all the talk of bed bugs in the City, I don’t want to try craigs list.</p>
<p>If you are outfitting an apt other than the nyu dorms, I would definitely go with IKEA or Target. You can get a protective mattress cover which is specifically designed to deter bed bugs from BBand B. If you have a Christmas Tree Shop nearby, they are also good for very inexpensive dishes, kitchen linens, storage ideas, cheap lamps and even some food.

<p>If you can, drive to the Elizabeth, NJ IKEA- it’s in a special zone of NJ where the tax is drastically reduced. It’s right near Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall, which has a full BB&B and a bunch of other useful stores. (Corelle outlet for cheap dishes/utensils that are ‘irregular’, cheap rug stores, and the full range of clothing/shoe stores.)</p>
