APUSH -- finally!

My son just left for his APUSH exam. Thank goodness. It’s over.
At least for me. It’ll be over for him by noon.

He left wearing:
white warm up jacket with blue trim.
off white shorts
red polo

Appropriate attire for an exam on American History? He actually didn’t notice that he was in red, white and blue. It was very cute.

Sorry …meant to post this in the cafe …

Mine is in the shower and I’m getting ready to fix him breakfast! REALLY ready for this to be over!

Mine was off at 6 a.m. to huddle with the guidance counselor who will be running her first-ever AP exam. After several weeks of non-stop DBQ reading/grading, early morning, after-school and weekend test prep sessions and frequent 1-on-1 tutoring we are finally at a point when things can get back to normal around our house. Yes, APs aren’t easy on the families of teachers either.

Mine hopped the bus more than 30 minutes ago. Like the red, white and blue attire!

Over? What’s over? Ds has four more next week. :(

D was wearing a silly sports team ensemble in honor of a home race tomorrow. At least she is comfortable, sometimes they dress up before races and I didn’t want her sitting in a dress and heels during the test. Only one more next week here, I am happy we are in a non-AP focused school :)

I don’t remember what ds was wearing, but we were amused to see that the instructions from the college board include a warning not to wear clothing that might include test related material. S2 said “I guess that means I can’t wear my No More Hiroshimas shirt” which includes the date the bomb was dropped.

mathmom,
LOL at the shirt. Mine left wearing jeans and a minimalist gray t-shirt with no design. He was nervous but I told him he’d be fine once he started speeding through those multiple choice questions.

APUSH today and Bio, English next week! I cant wait for the kid to be done. APUSH is the worst as I think the school doesnt prepare the kids well enough so DD has been studying non stop and worrying constantly. Cant wait for next week to be done. Finals are nothing compared to AP exams.

AT our school, they really do prepare them, even going as far as stating unless you are in the hospital or a drs note due to illnes (not a med appt), you cannot miss one class in this last quarter (starting@March, we’re on a block system that class is every other day). They have been doing practice tests not only in class, but also on line. SO my fingers are crossed for her. She has 2 more APs next week, and 4 ICSCE…just don’t know what they will teach for the next month after the tests are done!

Also at our school if you get a 2, you fail the course, regardless of the grade you have…no added pressure there!

Glad DS only has 1 AP exam this year. Next year will be worse… :(

As for attire…he’s wearing jeans and a shirt that the band members had made to honor the long time (22 year) band director who is leaving. He is actually already “gone” from school, but the band/color guard kids are having a big farewell party for him this afternoon…appropriately enough, from 3:30-6:00, at the school parking lot …the time and place where they practice their marching drill at band camp and all fall!

One down and two to go! I’m a little more worried about the AP Chem next week, and I don’t give a hoot about the English exam at all. We are hosting kids the entire weekend to study to the Chem exam, and this has been going on for months. I’m glad the kids want to study here (about 5 of them) because at least I know that they are really studying. But holy cow can they ever snack you to death!

wolfpackmom - D is getting ready to leave for APUSH now and also has AP chem and AP English next week. Like you we also don’t give a hoot about the english exam, she just wants the weighted grade.
