lol
interesting

whoops, grammatical mistake from typing too fast.

Anyways, here is an interesting article IMO.

cav, I agree. My H is a writer who got very good access to the CIA during one of his projects and has remained close with his contact subsequently-- it is just stunning what they can do, what has been thwarted that we never hear about, all the cool high tech gadgets!

1000Fists, may I suggest this site to help document your positions.

After all, if you ask us to recognize the vast contributions of Muslims to our culture, we may ask you to recognize the teachings of one of the greatest Muslims, who is famous for having categorized logic into two separate groups, the first one being idea and the second being proof.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/muslims/

Now here’s an interesting article about the the Joint Chiefs of Staff handle a truly offensive cartoon.

Actually, freedom of expression–kinda the social equivalent of the Internet–is what what has led Western democratic societies to the position they have today, from military power to intellectual capital. Most of us aren’t threatened by atheists or gays.

As for the history, you’re pointing to a thousand years of stagnation since Islam’s Golden Age. We call that “a great decline.” The Islamic world will be hobbled until it and basic notions of modernity can co-exist, e.g., free inquiry, civil law. The West and Christianity started dealing seriously with this issue some 300-500 years ago; small surprise that they’ve been on a roll since then.

It’s one of the cosmic ironies that many of those most militant in the U.S. in favor of sustained military intervention are your soul mates in terms of being anti-gay, anti-atheist, anti-science, and anti-emancipation of women. Somewhere, I’m sure that Someone is laughing about all of this.

The OP thinks that assasinating the children of the people that he/she thinks has wronged Mohammad is warranted…

That is truly sad. And, as FS said, I think Mohammad, Jesus, and Buddah would have handled any ridicule put to them.

To the OP- where do you live, what do you read, and you know, if I want to say whatever about a Historic Figure, I can. We have that right. Mohammad, Jesus, Buddah, are all Historic Figures. As such, they are open to scrutiny. And if people want, ridicule.

May not be nice, but if ones faith is so shallow as to not be able to ignore the trite postings of cartoons, than ones faith is meaningless.

Now if Denmark was jailing, barring, banishing, not hiring, etc Muslims, that is different. If they are doing that, then I would take issue.

Its good to talk about, but, to threaten children with death, to threaten anyone with death, over thought is very sad. What kind of God would want people to die because they didn’t follow Him/Her?

Your retoric is why many people have issues with Islam. Its not the religion, its the fanatics. Which is true for many religions.

Please think about your anger. And step back.

lol, islam

No, thats wrong. If that ever happened in America, such an act would be ruled as unconstitutional as dictated in Schenck vs. United States. Freedom of speech is limited to what may cause severe violence.

I find it my personal responsiblity to help the people in the Middle East, and I believe having a very powerful military could have gotten the job done a long time ago. America should learn something from Hitler and WWII.

Does anybody remember the Newsweek article about US militants flushing the Koran?

I’ve decided that onethousandfists is pure flame. his schtick is irritating. we should ignore him.

The only thing that would actually benefit the Middle East is a powerful military equipped with the most advanced weapons. No thanks to “freedom of speech.”

Its sad, but there is no room for moderate Muslims. Its time to fight for our land and glory. Either they support us or they dont.

cavalier, I am just engaging in discussion :)

Okay, I get it…1KF is a through-the-looking-glass parody of Bush/Cheney. “Either they support us or they don’t.”

lol, sounds about right, TheDad. He’s not even doing a good job of it, either.

Look for another half hour of Jesus jokes on an upcoming episode of Will and Grace which will guest star Britney Spears as a evangelical Christian TV cooking show host. The name of her character’s cooking show? ‘Cruci-fixins’.

Offensive yes. But no need to riot…just change the channel instead.

If 1000Fists TRULY means what he says here, is there a more sterling justification for some of the government’s anti-terrorist surveilance policies? IF, IF, IF the OP is indeed “dedicating his life” (dispite his U.S. citizenship) to the destruction of the U.S. and Israel, and sees nothing extreme in the call for violent Jihad to avenge the mere disrespect of Mohammed, is it not possible that he is part of a terrorist cell? Is the mere idea paranoia, and how are we to know, one way or another? IF he were indeed part of a terrorist organization, should we wait for congress to suspend its partisan bickering, and totally agree on what constitutes lawful wire tap before acting to thwart his plan for the destruction of American life and limb?

Hey, I’m just 18, I have a long way to go ;)

I had a dream last night. It was about 100 Muslims praying in a massive mosque when a huge Israel tank with their troops started destroying the places and shooting off each Muslim in prayer one by one. The Muslims didnt fear, they still kept on praying till each were eventually shot off.

Thedad, do you know that Christianity has no value at all anymore. The bible has been rewritten over thousands of times, and thus their true meaning is forever invalid. Looks like Christians have some problem with the word of God, after all there is about 400 divisions, with most Muslim converts being initially Christian.

Its not that Islam is in the dark ages. The fact is that Americans and Europeans are not compatible for religion after all.

poetsheat, I am Muslim American. I know well about the American political system. I might (though not official) join the US air force to learn more about their military. If not, I will join the CIA.

poetsheart, you realy misunderstood me. I am not a fanatic who wants to wage war for some stupid cartoon. The Arab world seems to be enslaved by the influence of US, Britain , and Israel. I plan to help relieve this influence, and this can only be done with a strong millitary. I dont care if I am denounced as a scum or a “terrorist.” At least I hope to gain respect and admiration by my own people. I am looking foward to those military history courses in college :)

onethousandfists -

You are extremely uninformed and immature. Personally, I look forward to you educating yourself as well. And btw…given your current propensity to spout nonsense, you wouldn’t pass personality profiles for the military or the CIA.

I usually keep my true feelings within myself since expressing them in public would cause nothing but trouble. I think I can hide my intentions, especially to the military and CIA.
