<p>Why I keep seeing more and more female students in Architecture School and less male students? However most renowned architects are male?</p>
<p>I believe the ratio in schools is 50%–a rate that has stayed constant for the past few decades. A much lower perecentage of women continue to practice into their 30s and 40s. </p>
<p>It is not a female dominated profession, it is a male dominated profession–which is part of the reason why the ‘reknowned’ architects have been male.</p>
<p>The few people in the architecture department of my office are all males.</p>
<p>Traditionally architecture was male dominated, this is changing somewhat in schools. Landscape Architecture, on the other hand, is female dominated.</p>
<p>…and also interior decor/remodeling, if that counts.</p>
