Architecture Major

If you are thinking to get in architecture major, rethink again.
I am working for architecture office, right now the firm paying everyone is so little and I am thinking to go back to school for different career. I have Master architecture degree and it is not worth to study architecture major. Architecture = artists. I wish someone could told me this before. I am 35, I am think should go back to school to study computer science?

You could get a quick 2-year MS Computer Science degree but without industry experience you’d be pounding sand as much as the next guy or gal who graduates with a ‘quick’ degree only to find out that it did not pay as much as they originally thought.

This was standard operating procedure in the 80’s and grad schools (one of the schools I attended included) were flooded with applicants. Some were able to apply their previous education to Comp Sci post graduation, a few had a talent for it, but most did not. 2 years is nowhere near enough to learn the skills the industry wants and make decent money in it. People got jobs back then when all that was needed was the diploma and some general experience, but not today with outsourcing etc.

You could go for a grad degree in computer graphics, animation, etc. as there seems to be some demand there and you can use your existing skills to some extent. Computer jobs tend to have brutally specific requirements in terms of skills, and salaries are not much to write home about (unless one gets a job with a top brand name type company).
