hi i’m going to be a junior this year. i definitely want to be an architect but im really scared about this portfolio!!! what is supposed to be in it?? i dont take art; i take architectural drawing… so could i put some of that stuff in? but i dont really go around and draw random things freehand. what are the requirements for the portfolio??? does columbia require a portfolio? what other schools dont require one? if you know the answers to any of these questions help me please!!

there was a similar post b4…someone actually uploaded his whole portfolio. used to be in the Arts Major section; not sure if tiz still there.

the cornell site actually spells out the basic requirements…photography…drawing…some perspectives. models too. but tiz nothing impressive: they’re more concerned about one’s interests than aptitude.

but you wave to be able to draw, so i hear, and well, too. I have a friend who got in early to architecture, I’ll see if I can you in touch with her if you promise not to annoy her. PM me with a screen name and i’ll give you hers or something. Go to the architecture department site <a href=“Department of Architecture | Cornell AAP”>Department of Architecture | Cornell AAP; and you can look at the exact requirements. It’s freehand drawings and stuff, not like, your floor plans or something. Ask about the columbia portfolio on the columbia board, most people here don’t know too much about specific columbia requirements
From the abovementioned site:

I would PM you her screen name, but you have PMing disabled… IM me on AIM and i’ll give it to you.
