D want to attend summer program for h.s. students. Pref east coast location. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

My boyfriend went to one he loved at Savannah College of Art and Design.

Might as well go to a place with an outstanding undergraduate program.

Cornell. Precollege Studies;

…in DC has a wonderful three week program that comes highly recommended by some of my colleagues at Yale. It is called “Experiences in Architecture.” <a href=“School of Architecture and Planning - Catholic University of America - Washington, DC | CUA”>School of Architecture and Planning - Catholic University of America - Washington, DC | CUA;

Washington University also has a summer architecture discovery program: http://artsci.wustl.edu/~artarch/sections/COURSE%20INFORMATION/course_summer.html

Also, check the Rhode Island School of Design (www.risd.edu). They have a six week program for high school students that I believe includes architecture.

D has to work and sadly, can’t devote 6 weeks to a program. She’s hoping to find a 1-2 week program (like NC State and Penn State) or 3 weeks at the beginning of the summer (like Catholic). The very end of the summer would also be ok, but highly unlikely since most colleges begin orientations a week or two before Labor Day.

Thanks again.

Carolyn, The WashU program looks great.

UIUC has a 2 week course:

Here’s one at University of Miami:

My son went to the daily (non-residential) one a couple of summers ago and enjoyed it.

I know someone who did a 10 day one at Notre Dame. She said it was tons of individual work and lots of fun.

thanks all
