The only ones I could find were Duke (It said Mar 15, but don’t most ppl file in April?) and MIT (it didn’t even say when). I don’t know whether my other schools require them, and when. Could someone please help? Thank you!

Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, MIT, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, GaTech, Tulane, UGA

Yes. For those schools you need student tax return and W-2, Parent tax return & W-2, if divorced and/or remarried parents, their tax returns & W-2, plus filing of CSS Profile, and if parents divorced Non-Custodial Parent Profile. Additionally, tax returns sent through IDOC program of College Board.

A number of these schools require you submit the IDOC (this is a service affiliated with college board). You will send parent/step/child taxes and W2’s. Go to EACH colleges’ financial aid page and collect the information you need. I assume you have already filed FAFSA and CSS Profile (and noncustodial if it applies)?
Here is Harvard’s FA info for example:
http://isites.harvard.edu/fs/docs/icb.topic555686.files/Prospective%20Student%20App%20Instruct%20US%20and%20Canada.pdf
If you file dthe CSS you should have received an email prompting you to file the IDOC. Here is a list of schools and what they require as far as CSS Profile and IDOC.
https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv

That list may not be perfect so check each college’s website carefully. The IDOC is typically due on 3/1. Your parents (and you) need to file your taxes ASAP!

Some of those schools had a CSS Profile deadline of 3/1.

If you are not asking for FA from the schools you can forget it. If you ARE asking for FA then get the info in on time, even if you have to file with numbers that are approximate until your parents have the taxes filed. If you miss the deadline you might miss getting any aid.

Thank you guys very much. I was completely lost on that. So my parents have to file them this week? How long does it take to file taxes (I won’t have to, and I’ve never done it before)?

Easy taxes can be done in a day. More complex taxes (if you own a business or have many different types of investments) can take much longer.

Ok, we won’t have to worry about that. We’re not quite the Romneys (yet, lol). Thank you all very much. And thanks to whoever moved this to the appropriate thread.
