Are "ADDITIONAL MAJOR PREPARATION COURSES" listed in Assist required for transfer?

Assist lists courses in following sections:

  1. MAJOR PREPARATION COURSES REQUIRED FOR TRANSFER
  2. MAJOR PREPARATION COURSES NECESSARY TO GRADUATE IN TWO YEARS
  3. ADDITIONAL MAJOR PREPARATION COURSES
  4. ADDITIONAL MAJOR ELECTIVES

1 I know is required. 2 sounds like its optional. I am not sure about 3 and 4, are the courses listed in there required for a transfer, or are they optional (meaning I can completed them at the UC. Thanks for reading.

Seems like:

  • 1 required for admission
  • 2 needed if you want to graduate in two years from transfer
  • 3 and 4 optional, but completing them before transfer will give you more elective space after transfer, which you can use for additional upper level courses in your major.
