Are all community colleges the same?

I’m having a hard time picking which one to attend. But aren’t they really all the same?!? I got accepted to BMCC,KCC&Lagurdia in the CUNY system I’m not sure which one to choose though.

I want to be a music producer when I’m older. But none of the colleges specifically offer a degree for music so I’m not sure which one to choose. Or what degree offer the most music classes for me.

But if I go to KCC it would be a 3 hour long commute from the dorms I would be staying at. Where as BMCC is 20 minutes.

I have no idea whatsoever about community colleges on the East Coast but I saw your post and wanted to pass this along. Washington Monthly ranked community colleges a few years ago (I’m surprised they haven’t done this every year) and there have to be more rankings out there. A TON of students are starting in CCs nowadays.

[Community College Rankings 2010 | Washington Monthly](http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/college_guide/rankings_2010/community_colleges.php)

P.S. If you want to be a music producer, USC has a very good program through its Thornton School of Music for a B.S. in Music Industry. Feeds a lot of people into the music business here.

BMCC sounds great to me. Manhattan is a great place to be going to college, any college. Take whatever music course s you can. ALso take a look at Five Towns College in Fort Dix NU which might be a great transfer possibility for you once you get some basic courses under your belt. That is their thing–music production so look at what courses they have and how you can best prepare for them or take some like them.

Do you know anything about BMCC or is this just from what you want saw?
