There is no bias. It’s a simple fact of life, my friend. That’s the way games are. WRPG (western role playing game) and JRPG (Japanese role playing game) are game genres. I don’t know why you seem to think that the eastern style is inferior, but like I said, different people prefer different styles.

laid back / accepting doesn’t equate with freedom and choice.

Compare Zen to Christian Free Will, then get back to me.

It’s rather irrelevant to this conversation, but are you implying classical music doesn’t require creativity?

No, but by definition you are not creating, but rather copying or replaying. It’s not original.

You are creating your own interpretations, your own understanding, something much more deep than a westerner can understand ;)

As China dominates the world’s economy, there might backlash against Asian people from xenophobes.

… copying? Asians never write their own classical music?

Right. If you want to be taken seriously in a discussion on race, it helps to not be (obliviously) biased and make statements like that.

And to your post; no, sorry, but interpreting a piece of art requires far less creativity (or whatever you want to call it) than creating a new piece.

that’s true. i was gonna mention it in the original post, but decided not to broaden the topic.

Not only are Asians and Indians thriving in America, but also if you look at the globe, India and East Asia are clearly rising and challenging the dominance of the west.

lol. dude. you’ve been creating your own rules all over this forum here.

I was referring to classical, as in the classics, IE stuff that students learn. Most kids don’t learn how to play classical music by composing their own work (at least not initally.) And even if they do, classical music is extremely limited compared to popular and the millions of other genres.

Also: [East vs. West – Ways of Thinking](East vs. West -- Ways of Thinking)

lol now it’s “who’s better: classical music, or the rest?” haha

The same goes to you.

The only reason you see more black/white artists, is because more of them do it in english. There are just as many asian artists, writers, etc, except asians still have their own, developed language, and sing/write in it. That’s why you don’t hear/see it.

You’d be hard pressed to find someone who believes that copying is superior to originality.

Yeah, except that I’ve admitted that I prefer western games over eastern, and why. You can’t seem to accept that fact that different cultures have different people.

If I was blabbering on about how whites are better than Asians at math, you’d be just as disagreeable, and quite frankly you’d (statistically) be right.

or perhaps people aren’t as accepting to art/music created by asians because people have such a bias against them in general.

whereas if a black man or a white man decided to scribble on a sheet of paper and call it “art”, then it would have a higher chance of being accepted than if an asian man were to do that. that’s america’s entertainment industry

Also, just because you prefer it doesn’t make it more creative. Can you understand that?

You’re really going off into Asian-centric ville now. I’m sorry, I tried. But it’s obvious that the intention of this topic was never to get an honest answer.

(@student01)

Go make a copy of the Mona Lisa and see if you’re half as popular as someone who’s just as talented, but creates original work.

popularity =/= creativity.

you liking it =/= creativity.

randomness =/= creativity.

perhaps. but

creativity = the ability to create. not copy. not imitate. but create.

the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination

Having the ability or power to create
