Are asians gradually becoming perceived as a threat?

I think the thousands of sweatshop workers around the world would disagree. Not that studying constantly = sweatshop work, but you’re being entirely too simplistic.

If you enjoy studying nonstop, wonderful, I’m glad for you. Just as I’ll miss out on the particulars of some complex math theorem, you’ll miss out on other things that make life great.

too lazy to find others, but your statements are just as racist as mine.

And you can’t even understand that the thing about comprehension was a joke (hence the ;))

once again, pandem, you’ve made another entirely huge generalization… that all asians do is study in order to become the most successful people in society… well that’s the point of my thread, “are asians becoming perceived as a threat?” hahaha. clearly that is the case. proof: all of pandem’s responses

Seem to lack. Big difference, better work on that reading comp.

I was referring to this post:

So how else would you describe the "asian environment in which they grew up?

–
Yeah I can understand you being lazy; it’s tough to find statements that don’t exist. That’s something you’ll have to CREATE.

Go back to first page, perhaps you’ll remember what you’ve typed. I copied and pasted straight from what you wrote.

And anyway, why are you here? why don’t you go smuggle some beer so you can go get drunk and “enjoy life”?

^ lol. i was about to say that actually

Right. What a black and white world you live in.

Actually, I’ve never even had a drink, I don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, and am obsessed with my health. It’s sad to think that the only way to “enjoy life” is with beer, and even sadder that you think that way.

Yes, I just read the first page. I’m assuming you just copied and pasted my reference to “asians lack creativity” when I was talking about google searches.

So how did you come to the conclusion that Asians aren’t creative? Do you realize that the Chinese are the most important inventors in the history of the world?

I haven’t come to any conclusions, like I said, it’s just a general consenus. If it wasn’t there would be books written about it.

That’s wonderful that the Chinese invented many things back in the day. But it’s silly to compare people from hundreds of years ago to today. If they are such great inventors now, why is China one of the biggest producers of iPod knockoffs?

that’s a bit much, I’d say.

Because it’s freaking profitable?

^ in fact, if it weren’t for many chinese inventions, many european “inventions” wouldn’t have been able to be built off of that. and vice versa. pandem, go read a book on creativity

wow. 5+ pages feeding off pandem’s responses. lol

That’s a shame that you can’t learn creativity from a book. And I thought we were talking about creativity, not profitability?

Yes, but because it’s much more profitable than being creative, that’s why they make “knockoff ipods” as you say.

we’re very creative at finding ways to earn money ;)

It isn’t a bit much, its the truth.

The poor and exploited villagers in those American owned sweatshops =/= the rest of China. If I was utilizing your logical fallacy, I could point out that all Americans do is hunt and discriminate against blacks and Jews. The rednecks =/= rest of America.

Then I ask; why are the majority of Chinese products copies of current products? If they were so inventive, and so creative at making money, why is it that they haven’t really risen to the world economic table until now?

hey, chinese are doing to the west what the americans did to the british in the 1800s. people copy and steal technology from others, that’s a fact

Because the confucious code condemned making money. for centuries, the Chinese had peace and prospered within itself even though it could’ve dominated the whole world easily; Zheng He’s voyages have gone farther than Christopher columbus 2 centuries later; at that time britian’s best warships were 1/10th the size of a normal carrier in China. Yet we decided to be peaceful to others, and not intrude and force our opinions and beliefs on others.

As the world is changing, China also has to change, but it’s such a large country you can hardly expect it to change within a few days, the speed it’s going now is quite fast.

Again, it’s much more profitable than developing your own stuff.
