As i applied for colleges, I chose University of Rochester, RIP, and Boston U as my most likely “in” schools. However, I got rejected by Boston U , waitlisted by RIP, and accepted by Rochester. Does that mean that i am going to be rejected by all IVYs and top schools i Applied? People, answer my question sincerely!!

most likely. BU is not a very selective school.

I got sat 2130
sat math 2-800 physics 630
and a bunch of activities
no aps( my school doesn;t offer)
GPA -95

RIP? Did you mean RPI?

Anyway, when you consider that BU is the lowest ranked of those three schools, and Rochester, where you were accepted, is probably the most competitive (and highest ranking), I would say that it isn’t really a sign of everything. I don’t know what your stats are, but sometimes a school will waitlist or not accept someone (more likely waitlist though) who they don’t think will enroll, this could have happened to you.

I was rejected from BU, but was accepted at RPI (still waiting on a couple of schools that are more competitive). I suppose one reason for this could be that I live in the Greater Boston area and never went on an official BU tour or had any other interaction with them besides sending my app…

to be honest with your scores you have no chance at the ivies or most top schools.
especially with the fact that this year has become incredibly competitive with many more applicants to every selective school
i have a very difficult course load and high SAT’s and i am getting completely shut out from the best schools so far
i would say it is somewhat unusual that you got rejected from BU
your scores are above average for them
however, they too have more applicants this year, and perhaps your application itself was sub-par
maybe they didn’t like your essays…hard to tell
either way…you should be fine
if you’re not in a very prestigious school, all that matters is that you work hard in your school and pursue internships and jobs outside of it
good luck

I don’t understand why you were rejected from BU, considering my stats are much lower and I was waitlisted. It makes no sense. Honestly, you’re going to end up where you’re meant to succeed. Don’t be too hard on yourself (I’m telling myself this too).

@Talentle

I think you have a chance at getting into an Ivy, they do not always choose the perfect scoring SAT individuals. (^_^) Stay optimistic!

I mean, look at BU, I wonder how they judged, because people with really high scores did not get accepted, others said they winged the essays and had the average scores and got in.

But like everyone said, whereever you may end up, it is meant to be. If you have the passion you will succeed, and the college that you attend or did not attend will mean less compared to your great accomplishments in life.
