Are college bound classes that bad?

I go to a private school and no one informed me that colleges actually care so much about honors classes, so I blew them off freshman year completely and took one last year (Hon Geometry). There are 6 classes with the label and I’m taking one next semester so I’ll have taken only 2/6 honors offered.

My questions:

Are college bound courses looked down upon or does it really depend on the class rank? I got an A in an english course where most students got B’s and C’s and a couple even failed, wheras the “honors” course gave out almost all A’s and a few B’s when I know I worked harder.

Also, are honors courses only the ones with the honors label attached. We dont have honors bio, honors chem, etc.

What the heck is “college bound”?

I don’t know why people expect everyone to understand the precise vernacular their school uses.

College bound classes are normal level classes, so they’re not looked down upon. But you would be better off taking honors/AP courses for competitive colleges. I don’t really understand your second question.
