Are Collegeboard's statistics correct? (Occidental)

According to Collegeboard, 28% of the student population had an average GPA of inbetween 2.0 and 2.5

Is this correct? I find this slightly odd considering that the university has the potential for Columbia University transfers (as Obama did)

This is merely a guess.

Lot of top California schools take a considerable amount of community college transfers.

If a student is outstanding their transfer college isn’t likely to disregard them because some percentage of other students at their college didn’t do that well. It’s not the lower qualifying students that are trying to transfer to Columbia. There are some exceptional students at Occidental, as is the case in many, many colleges… even ones with a more academically diverse population.

Anyone else? Does Occidental really accept students from high school with GPA’s between 2.0 and 2.5?

yeah and whats with Kenyon saying that 24% of their students were in the top 1% of their HS class (harvard quality, no?)

yet average SATs arent so hot and acceptance rate is about 30%
