Are high school academic letters and chevrons recognized as academic achievements?

<p>I have received my academic letter (for my GPA) and several academic chevrons (for my GPA) to put on a lettermen jacket since ninth grade. Do those count as “scholastic distinctions or honors?” </p>

<p>The following is the exact question that is on the common application to which I am concerned with:</p>

<p>Briefly list or describe any scholastic distinctions or honors you have won since the ninth grade (e.g., National Merit, Cum Laude Society).</p>

<p>I think it’d be better to put other things ahead of that. If it’s for GPA, it’s probably not very impressive, especially if there are “several.”</p>

<p>I think they count, though. I would list them, but as kyledavid80 said, I would list other honors first if you have them.</p>

<p>They count, for sure. But you probably have more worthwhile stuff to put in that slot.</p>
