Are math ECs necessary for top Engineering Schools?

I’m applying to the engineering schools/programs at UC Berkeley (I’m a CA resident), UCLA, UCSD, UPenn, Cornell and Columbia but I have next to nothing math ecs. I hope to become either industrial or civil/structural engineer.
I believe I have the grades. I’m ranked #1 at my school (788 students). My SAT I math score is 770 (only missed one ?) and will be taking Math IIC in Nov. I’m taking Calc AB and AP Physics (took AP chem last year) right now and self studying for Calc BC.
Should I start take part in more math related ECs? cause right now, my ECs are more community participation and art/design related.

You’re pretty much set for all the UCs you have mentioned. I got in with less impressive scores/ranking than you. And I don’t think math ECs are necessary though they couldn’t hurt. You want to try and seem passionate about your ECs and be able to show strong involvement in them. It won’t help if it looks like you only did this to get into college.

No, math ECs aren’t necessary. I don’t think I had any.

Math ECs aren’t necessary, as has already been said. I had none as well.
