Attending UCLA this fall, I’m wanting to carry the least amount of books. I’d love to hear that more professors are allowing for ePub based iBooks.

I’d much rather carry an iPad with many textbooks weighing a pound, or a Kindle weighing a couple of ounces, than carry 20+ pounds worth of textbooks.

Can any UCLA students chime in on this?

Most textbooks have a PDF format, which is compatible with the iBooks app.

However, the method of attaining the PDF format of your textbooks is the “tricky” part…I’m being “vague” about this for a reason.

Otherwise, I have seen legal electronic versions of textbooks accessible via a website with Adobe Flash, which is a no-go on the iPad. My Physics 6 series textbook is an example of this.
