<p>Honors Biology: 91%
Accelerated English: 90%
Honors US History: 90%
Honors Chemistry: 91%
Honors French III: 90 %
Honors Pre-Calculus: 80%</p>
<p>How bad are they?</p>
<p>Aweful. You aren’t getting into college with an A- average.</p>
<p>You will never make it into college, not even Community College. You might as well give up life right now. Drop out of school and become a drug-dealer.</p>
<p>A- average? May as well be a B+ average. And in that case, not far from C territory. You better just give up. Don’t you know that everyone here on collegeconfidential has 2600 SAT scores as well as A+ averages. Jeez…</p>
<p>Disregard those last posts. Those grades don’t signify the “end”. No person is perfect, so next year you need to work a little harder. Cheer up :)</p>

Seriously though, my gpa is suffering from these A-'s. Is it true that for the UC’s a 90-100 is counted as a 4.0, 80-89 3.0, and so on?</p>
<p>UCs themselves have a gpa system that counts A-'s and A’s differently (so straight A-'s wouldn’t be a 4.0 whereas in some high schools, they can be). However, I’m not really sure how colleges like UCs look at high schools with different gpa systems like yours. My guess is they probably look into the fact that your letter grades are weighted differently.</p>
<p>Oh and plus, if I recall correctly, for the UC application you put the letter grades, not the gpa.</p>
<p>A-'s are still A’s. The signs don’t matter.</p>

<p>Grades are only meaningful relative to your peers. At my school, a 90 is close to average. At another school, the valedictorian might be pulling a 90.</p>
<p>The precalc grade probably isn’t a good thing, however.</p>
