First off, I’m pessimistic, so sorry about the title …

Well 2 questions …

What are my chances of getting into GT/Emory with these stats:
GPA: 88 (I realize it’s low :()
Class Intensity: 8 AP’s, 5-6 Honors, 6-7 Regular
Extracurricular:
-Limited to 4 years of volunteer service
-Some work experience (for a summer)
-FBLA
-Run an ebay business (Can I even state this? :P)
-more BS …
SAT II: 2100
-Verbal: ~650
-Math: ~800
-Writing: ~650
ACT: ~31-32

If I don’t get accepted, will I atleast get waitlisted or accepted conditionally in either?

There’s a huge “gap” between my GPA and SAT’s because I study an estimated 2 hours a month, am a renowned procrastinator - sad to admit - …

I plan to get a dual degree/double major as my interests lie in both business and computer science. Are there any requirements (academically) on this? Should I even be concerned about this now (I’m a rising senior)?

Hmm…I’ve heard of people with low GPAs and super high SAT Math scores getting into Georgia Tech. I believe you can state your ebay business under extracurriculars, though you may consider writing about it in the essay. Since you’re a rising senior, you still have time on your hands (believe it or not). My advice on how to utilize that time?

STOP F’IN PROCRASTINATING and get a 95+ GPA in first semester senior year. Applying before October 31 for GT’s Presidential is no use since your GPA is too low. But if you get damn good grades first semester senior year, and you live in the metro atlanta area, you should have your grades back by January 15. Therefore, you can put them on your application and that’ll definitely turn heads. You could probably even raise that 88 to a 89.6 with a lot of hard work.

You’re pretty much good to go, but I would still really work on boosting your GPA.

As for Emory, I don’t know since I didn’t apply there. I don’t know anyone with your GPA who got in, but I do know a couple of SAT scores in the 20xx that got in, so you’re above the miniumum with that!

Are you seriously asking this? Ever heard the saying “easy to GET in, hard to STAY in”? That applies to this school. You’re SAT is MORE than enough to get in, your GPA is fine (3.52ish it seems), that would make your freshmen index 3210 (you need a minimum of 2900-3000 to get in).

As for Emory, you have a decent shot so I’d apply. Reasonable stats, decent ECs. If you present yourself in the right light and get good recs, you could get in.

Now, IDK if you would be able to hack the rigor of these schools, especially Tech, as they are renowned for the amount and rigidity of their work (especially Tech… ever hear of “weeding-out” and “Satan’s ******* for school work”?).
