Are my chances ruined..Advice urgently needed

I’m an upcoming senior and I really want to go to UoP for their accelerated dental programs
GPA: 3.83 UW/4.17W
SAT: 2120 MAth-780 CR-680 W-660

EC:200+ hours volunteering
Won bronze medal for a unique sport. other awards for it…1st in my county
ASB
LINK crew
Band Vice President
Won lexicon challenge at The Center for Future Global Leaders
Planning to start “Operation Smile Club” at my school next year.

Now, here is the problem. I got my AP scores today and they are absolutely horrendous.
Last year on APEURO I scored a 3
I got a 1 on Calc AB.
2 On one of the tests
and two 3’s on the rest.
I don’t know what happened. I wasn’t feeling well during these tests but honestly I did not know I was going to get a one.

I did some research and it seems to me like one half are saying “ap scores are important in understanding the rigor of the classes you took, therefore the grades you got A’s in won’t look as impressive if you didn’t do well on standardized tests.”
I also saw a lot of people saying that the “ap scores won’t affect the admissions process because it’s just trying to give you credits” I don’t know what to believe.

So I guess my question is

  1. To those of you who have info ab UoP, how much do ap scores take part in your admissions office? With the scores like mine, will it be difficult for me to get into their programs?
  2. Has anybody here tried to cancel one of the ap tests? Do you guys think its a good idea?
  3. IF!!! I were to retake one of the test, and if I also wanted to apply for UoP early action, will I have to send in my scores AFTER applying? How would this whole process work?
  4. I’m obviously going to apply to other accelerated/regular colleges as well. Should I bother sending my scores in?

Please don’t be too harsh in the comments, but rather give me advice so I can actually sleep tonight
Thank You

Notice it does not mention AP tests at all because in the grand scheme of things it is irrelevant. When I tell you colleges will literally glance at your scores and move on I mean just that. You have good SAT scores and a good GPA, that’s what matters. In your case I’d not submit any, it will not make a difference. I’ve seen a good 5 threads posted today with frantic rising seniors about the most minute thing on their application and I understand, but honestly AP scores do not matter. (Especially since you are going into dentistry)

Agree ^^^ with above poster. Most universities will only use AP scores for college credit and most do not require you send the AP score report until you have graduated Senior year, so not considered in admission decisions. You look like a competitive applicant, so I am sure you will fine.

Thank you @Gumbymom !!!

More than half the kids who took the AP Lang exam with me drew dick pics on the free response. I know they’re not even concerned with reporting their score. Don’t sweat it- if you did fine in the class, just don’t submit the score.

AP scores only help in two scenarios:

  1. If you did horribly during the year but get a high score on the exam. For example, my friend got a D in AP Chem but a 4 on the exam. This will show the adcom that your class was especially tough but you were still good enough to get a great score.
  2. If you want college credit so you don't have to waste time taking the course.

Tl;dr don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
