I was wondering if you think that these credentials would be good enough to get me into the Academy. I am 3rd out of 56. I have a 4.0 GPA. I am the president of my class and the vice president of FCA. I am a member of NHS, and the captain of my football team. I was a member with boy scouts, and help a lot with the local hospice program. I served on student council for two years. I was on the town’s Junior Chamber of Commerce. I also participate on the schools varsity powerlifting team. I have gone to regionals in Number Sense for two years in a row. Getting in to the Air Force Academy has been a dream of mine since I was young. I am a junior now and have already started the nomination process. Does this sound good enough to get me into the Academy?

Sounds good, but remember that test scores are a very important part of the process because they are one of the few crendentials that can be compared side by side with someone else’s.

amdandrew is exactly correct–looks good, but if you end up with 1100 SATs it won’t do you much good…

To get into the national pool (if you get passed over on your nomination from the congressperson etc.) you’ll need to have decent verbal scores cuz that’s what distinguishes you from other people.

It might be wise to take a good SAT test prep course to maximize those SAT scores. Everything else sounds great! Oh, and be sure to apply for the Summer Seminar!
