In senior year I’m holding cancer fundraising bakesales, i played softball, i wasnin choir, and I’m holding a club for other kids to do community service. Are these acceptable to help me stand out? Also I have a 2.7 Gpa and by my first semester of senior year it’ll be a 3.0 or higher
@Marissarojas98 I’d say that those are average extra curriculars, but did you create the community service club yourself? That would be a good EC if you did.
Yes. We started late may but are continuing in the fall
UCSD will be a tough go for you.
If your current 10th and 11th scores are under 3.0, and you are struggling to raise those grades, you will struggle with your coursework at UCSD, so any EC’s will be moot unless your tests scores are extremely high?
UC’s look at grades from soph and junior year…must be 3.0 or higher for instate. You’re OOS, so the GPA req’t is higher.
Your GPA makes the EC question irrelevant. You need to research other college options, because UCSD is not a realistic choice. Have you tried the free SuperMatch tool on the left side of this page to find other colleges?
Look at some of the less competitive Cal States - maybe Sacramento, Sonoma, San Marcos?
