I am in high school and I get good grades (all A’s and high B’s). However, I do not know if my extras are good enough. I am going to play badminton and handball. I know that those are not major known sports, so will colleges even count them? I played basketball in middle school and that caused me to get flat feet (ankles go inward). Whenever, I run or play too much my foot begins to hurt. I do wear insoles in my shoes, however it takes a long time for it to give you a normal arch. That is why I do not play any “high intense” sports. Anyway, I am just wondering if my extras are enough? I am also going to have 100 service hours.
Enough for what? And for which colleges?
Are they good enough for colleges to like me ? And this is just a general question. No specific colleges in mind.
This really depends on your definition of good. Good could mean a top 20 school in the nation, or any college that isnt a community college. You need somewhat of a benchmark to make an informed response.
Im just wondering if my extras are good. If you read my post I didnt say good colleges. I said good extras. Im just wondering if my extras are decent where i can get accepted to a decent school. No, not ivy league and no not community college.
If you have significant achievements in these sports (championships, awards, etc.) then it’s a good extra (this goes for pretty much everything). Generally, as long as it’s appropriate, the extra itself does not matter as much as what you have done with it.
