My junior yr was a mess! 9-10th grades i got an UW 3.85 gpa. 11th grade it dipped both semesters w/ barely 3.6! I got quite a few B’s and B+'s, especially in math, and my SAT score will not help either (660 M, 730 Cr)

will the fact that i m a URM and number 2 in my class help?

I just re-calculated it and it’s more like a 3.67…better? I think i do get some kind of affirmative action/diversity admissions b/c i m iranian/persian and i bring diversity to the campus. b/c i have only been here 4 yrs, would i be considered an “international”?

You might be a minority, but you do not get the benefits that african americans, native americans, or hispanic americans do. Your race will not benefit you in the admissions process.

That being said, your GPA is somewhat low, but since you are ranked 2, I have a feeling that the admissions committee will see that you are a great student.

URM refers to specific minorities that are underrepresented in college compared to their proportion of the general population (ie. AA, Latino & NA). So, while colleges do want a diverse student body, it would be incorrect to refer to a person of Iranian/Persian background as being a URM for college admissions purposes.
