Are numbers enough?

I was wondering if Vanderbilt was a school that was heavily into the essays/personal qualities thing for admissions, or if they will be very accepting of students with good numbers.

I have a 1510/1600 SAT, and a 3.5 UW 4.25 W GPA… but probably not the strongest essay (although I am working on it)… chances?

This is a school that is ‘heavily into’ the personal qualities, character traits, and essay ‘thing’ for admissions. Obviously ‘numbers’ will help, but this isn’t MIT and your FIT at Vanderbilt is very, very important.

frankly, ur numbers arent all that amazing, they are strong don’t get me wrong, but the class of 2012 at Vandy was a very strong class numbers wise, and I have a feeling that admissions is going to continue to increase, especially with Vandy’s football team performing well and its increase in rank in US news, along with the commons, there are many factors that will allow the admissions office to be more selective, and your gpa is not that strong, but I still think you have a decent chance.

Don’t forget they announced the no loans initiative on FA packages. That will drive apps as well.

Rock your interview and write a great essay and you’re in.
Also, you need some extracurriculars!
