<p>Are other recommenders necessary? For many of my schools they are optional, and I am wondering if it will hurt me if I do not have any other recommenders.</p>
<p>I have people I could ask, but timing wise I am unsure if I should ask and wait to send in my application, or just send it in now without the other recommenders. Due dates are in January but I’ve heard it is better to get them in early.</p>
<p>The only reason to send an additional recommendation is to provide further information about you that is not already present in your application. If, for example, you take a strong role in your church and would want a church leader to write an app, or if you have a meaningful job you’ve held for several years, your boss might be an appropriate ‘other’ recommender. Most students have no need for an additional recommendation and it doesn’t at all hurt an applicant not to submit one.</p>
