I’m a junior in HS right now and I’m looking for a school where I can just try my best, and not have to deal with “grade-whores.” Are people overly competitive at competitive at Columbia? By that I mean, will they give other students wrong information/ ask professors for every last point, etc…?

Very few people will actively sabotage others at Columbia; it’s not that cut-throat. Nonetheless, I’m concerned that you may not appreciate just how intense pre-med programs are at top-tier schools. I highly doubt anyone will give you false information, but it will be quite difficult, especially since you’ll have the Core at Columbia.

There are competitive people and backstabbers in any profession. You’ll need to deal with it. Worry about yourself.
