<p>I know, recent immigrants and URM are not even the same things. However after a while on this board, I’ve recognized several Asian immigrants get accepted to HYPSM or the rest of top colleges/ ivies. Their stats are generally lower, and their activities may not be as “hot”. SO, do you think recent immigrants are on the same par with URMs when it comes to college admission?</p>
<p>It’s possible (I don’t know the specicifics here) that the low-income thing came into play. Also, some types of Asians are underrepresented and may get a boost.</p>
