Are Reference Angles always positive (Trig)?

<p>As I study for SAT Math II Trig sectiob, I encountered this thought. In unit circle, are reference angles are always positive, even given negative angle for its original standard positioned angle?</p>

<p>I don’t know that it really matters either way, but I’m pretty sure that they are.</p>

<p>Yeah. They’re always acute, positive, and in reference to the x-axis.</p>
