Are relevant ECs better?

Is it the amount if ECs or the passion behind them that attracts ivy leagues and other high tier schools?

I’m very passionate about medicine and I have shown that by doing volunteer work at a hospital and an internship at a neuroscience clinic. I’m also an officer of the national science honor society. Somebody told me I needed more, so I’m in a lot of other societies and key club. Is that enough, or do I just need some more random ECs?

Passion .

Quality is most definitely better than quantity–I was told that by many, many teachers, and I believe it.

Does it hurt to not have your ECs completely centered? Like, dedication within each one, some more than others, but they don’t all revolve around one subject, like medicine?

I think that
s fine…as long as you don
t do something just for the sake of doing it…as long as it`s not absolute minimal dedication.
