Are Spring visits for prospective applicants possible for entry Fall 26?

For those that will be applying next year for admission in Fall 26, are in-person visits possible in the Spring?

I’ve seen some posts last year of ad hoc, last minute invitations for spring visit/tour/interviews for prospectives, but nothing on the admission calendars as of now. We’d like to visit a couple of NE schools and also West Coast. But that will be hard to do from the South without taking off too much school time in the fall next year. Summer also isn’t ideal because it isn’t the same vibe on campus. I’d like DD to glimpse if her abstract criteria right now is on point, and have time to pivot her list in the fall.

I assume right after decisions are made this March, Spring Breaks follow quite soon, and AOs are busy with revisit days for accepted kids. Is there an appetite for prospectives then? Last minute flights/stays for just one school would be hard to arrange from afar and may not be worth the effort, so I’m wondering if anyone has any advice how to approach/plan now. Thanks.

We went to open houses in May at St Marks, St Georges and Miss Porters. Those were the only schools I could find that had open advertised spring events. We live in New England, so were able to attend more open houses in the fall, and then we went back for interviews and tours at the schools my kids wanted to apply to. I was glad we were able to visit a few in the spring, just so they could have an idea of what a boarding school even looked like! We did not try to arrange our own spring tours, but I am sure if you called around some schools would accommodate you, especially if you are traveling from farther away.

Thanks, all. I will try and see if something can be arranged for May, at least for a couple of schools… without bothering the Admissions office much.

Information for St. Mark’s

Spring Admission Open House - Saturday, May 10, 2025, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Prospective applicants for the 2025-2026 school year, please mark your calendar for an informal opportunity to tour the campus and speak with admission representatives and current parents to learn more about a St. Mark’s education.

This event occurs during our Saturday Program classes. While you will see students participating in Saturday programs as you pass through our facilities during your tours, visitors will not be able to join classes. Due to teaching commitments, faculty and coaches are not typically available during this tour only event. If you wish to connect with a specific faculty member or coach, we encourage you to request a meeting when scheduling your interview appointment in the fall.

Tours will leave every 15 minutes between 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Registration is not required, but will be available in the spring to help us plan.

If you want a tour and interview, you’ll probably need to wait until late summer or fall. Some schools do not open their calendars until August for some reason, so you can’t even schedule anything until then. It’s a real pain because it can make it hard to schedule visits when you also need to purchase airfare and plan the trip. Most of the NE schools make it difficult for those of us who don’t live in NE.

SPS Spring Peek

Saturday, May 10, 2025
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Admissions Office invites families to get a “Spring Peek” at St. Paul’s School life, and to meet some of the people who make it so special. The day will include campus tours with current students, lunch with remarks from Rector Kathy Giles, a student panel, as well as opportunities to watch performing arts rehearsals and athletic competitions.

Registration will be available in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Admissions Office at admissions@sps.edu.

Call the schools, many will. But it is early for interviews.
