Hi ,

In case of a student who had passed 2 years of university outside U.S and then transferred those credits to an U.S college to continue his study toward a bachelor degree

Would that student be eligible for Pell Grant if he meet all requirements ( need - residency , program eligibility , etc ) ??

or would be any form of restrictions ??

Thanks

Bozo

As long as the student did not receive the equivalent of a bachelors degree and meets all other requirements, that student should be Pell-eligible.

Bozo2013, please remember that federally determined aid such as the Pell is only available to individuals who are citizens, legal permanent residents (green card status), or have certain other narrowly defined immigration statuses. Read the FAFSA website, and find out if you qualify.

There isn’t a residency req’t for Pell. An American living abroad and coming to school here can get Pell if he has the right EFC.

Must be a US citizen or Perm Res and be seeking an undergrad degree (no prior Bachelor degrees) and have a qualifying FAFSA EFC…somewhere around 5000 or less.
