<p>I’m in a dilemma where I already have a humanities & science (chem) teacher recommendation, but my science research teacher wrote me one too. I think his recommendation may be the strongest since I am closest with him, but I’m worried that admissions officer may disregard it or not weigh it as much.</p>
<p>An option is that I could use my chemistry teacher as my supplemental and science research teacher as my main rec, but idk? Since chem is more “academic” and sci research is not, I’m kind of unsure.</p>

<p>Generally speaking, supplemental recommendations are purely optional, and are in theory not weighted as much as the required recommendations. </p>
<p>Most universities want the required two recommendations to be from the teachers who have actually taught you. Has your science research teacher ever taught you in any subject?</p>
<p>I do not know if the teacher needs a teacher’s evaluation sheet if it’s via common app. What I do is that I ask my teacher to write a recommendation(without teacher evaluation), seal it, and send it by mail. </p>
<p>PS. Some universities also offer scientific research supplement. You should, if possible, send your scientific research along with the recommendation.</p>
<p>Not really, all my D does is spend time with her boyfriend (doing you know what =[ ), and never does her homework. She was just admitted into Yale.</p>
<p>Yeah, my science research teaches the science research course, which I have taken since 9th grade. I’ve had him all 4 years until now. So maybe it would be better to use his recommendation?</p>
<p>Actually, my chemistry teacher already submitted the application online via common app, so I guess I can’t do anything about this situation other than just send my science research teacher’s as a supplemental. </p>
