Are T20s turning into prodigy schools

With such competition it seems like Top schools are turning into schools like TJHSST.

Pretty certain you don’t have to be a prodigy to attend TJ. You do have to be some combination of smart/dedicated.

You also don’t have to be a prodigy for t20 colleges. But most are smart AND dedicated.

I feel like MIT and Stanford are 3/4 filled with Oly and National Science fair winners

Top schools have always been the home for top students. Pretty much by definition.

They aren’t. Given the number of admitted students (~2700 combined) and the number of Olympiad/National Science Fair winners (maybe a couple hundred including all competitions and all award levels) and the dozen other schools competing for the same students, maybe 3-5%.

oh… well there are like 100s of USACO plats alone

My son got in and I don’t think he’s won either. Think he won a math competition for his school??

Depends on what you consider “winners”. This appears to be the number of competitors.

USAMO has 300 qualifiers but only 12 winners and 12 honorable mention.
