Are there any classes at community colleges that don't give out grades?

I want to go to CCSF to take a class in kungfu, dancing, cooking, or the like. I am currently at Laney college, even though I live in SF, because I heard about the possible closure at CCSF and also how hard it is to get science and math courses there.

I’m thinking about taking the kung fu or cooking class so I would get priority to register next semester at CCSF. Commuting to Oakland everyday by bart and muni costs a lot. :(

So are there such classes that don’t give grades that go on your academic transcripts?

And is it really hard to get science and math courses at CCSF?

I know I’ve asked similar questions before, but I really hate how much of my mom’s money i’m spending to just commute.

in your situation, you could always try to do an online course. however the fall semester is now a second week in or so if you don’t hurry up and register you might lose your chance.

more importantly, your registration date i believe will be determined by the number of units you’re taking, so if you’re only doing 3 (or in this case probably more like 1…) you will have a garbage registration date regardless. you’ll have a “better” date but a lot of the classes that you would probably want will be taken by the time you’re able to register.

Thanks for the help. :)
