There seems to be more material available for the other sections.
That’s probably because you can’t really prepare for the science outside of learning the strategies and doing a lot of practice. The chances that they will ask you about a science topic that you would study are very slim
So I will tell students looking for material to study for ACT Science to just do extra practice in it?
Take bio/physics class
Take bio, chem, and physics - chem hasn’t been too prominent on recent tests, but if you know the material already, it’s a lot easier
Or you could review basic concepts for bio/chem/physics
But it would be useful if there was material with the basic concepts of science to study for the exam.
That’s the thing. The topics of science that’s going to be on the exam is really hard to predict. Actually, you don’t really need to know a lot of science to do well on the section. You just need to be able to decipher and get information from the charts/graphs/excerpts. I just recommend doing a lot of practice tests to improve.
Here is a list of topics to brush up on that will help move your science score. There are between 4 and 6 “prior knowledge” science questions on the test.
Biology
Cell Biology
DNA, RNA, and Ribosomes
Genetics
Chemistry
Basic Molecule Structure
Freezing/Boiling Point of Water
pH
Molar Mass Concepts
How Charges Interact
Phase Changes
Physics
Gravity
Density vs Mass
Density vs Volume.
If I recall correctly, no extensive science knowledge is required and most of it is just analyzing graphs and tables. Nothing more than basic common knowledge from your high school science classes is needed.
@Hiya12345
Yes you are correct, the test requires very BASIC knowledge of the list above.
