I’m talking about after highschool graduation.
Check with your HS GC and your state. I doubt it.
After you graduate from high school…what would you be “dual enrollment” with?
All the regular scholarships are available to you. Are you eligible for the scholarship for CC students that transfer to 4 year schools? Check at both your high school and the transfer office of the community college.
Around here, dual enrollment means a course is taken for college credit, and is also applied to HS graduation requirements.
So my question to @Vinman07a once you graduate from HS…who will you be “dual enrollment” with? You will no longer BE a HS student.
I think OP is asking whether there are scholarships that give preference to students who were dual enrolled in high school.
The answer is, at least when talking about outside scholarships, not really. It may be something interesting to talk about in an essay if you have a ton of credits (a friend who won Coke and GE-Reagan with me literally has senior standing right now, and got accepted into a Master’s program as a freshman), but otherwise, it won’t be a significant advantage. Most competitive scholarship applicants have many AP credits/IB courses & scores/dual enrollment credit under their belts. It isn’t particularly something scholarship organizations seek out – because they don’t have to.
I did not think of that, Courtney.
Agreed…not likely that there are dedicated scholarships for students who took dual enrollment courses in HS…unless maybe the CC where the dual enrollment courses were taken offers something.
